💡As a leader, I’ve had the privilege to lead others and help them grow into more effective contributors and leaders over a thirty-year span as a supply chain leader in corporate America. I’ve also had to demonstrate my leadership abilities in building a small business from the ground up over the last 10+ years.
⚡While there are SO many components to effective leadership, let’s simplify it down to ONE…
⚡⚡Well, maybe TWO…
PEOPLE and RELATIONSHIPS
💡Thousands of CEO’s were surveyed about their key priorities, and their responses boiled down to three categories:
👉Relationships
👉Culture
👉Execution
I’ve always been relationship centered, and people focused, and it came from a place of authenticity, so I never really felt that I was working hard at it.
Time and again, the better the relationship is with your team members, the better you communicate, and the more you focus on creating a winning culture with your team, the more effective you and your team will be toward achieving your goals.
💡WHY? Because relationship building and effective communication builds TRUST and that’s what earns you the right to have them follow you. Ultimately, as a leader this enables you to be a more effective influencer.
And without a doubt, having the right people in the right jobs is essential! Not just from a competency standpoint, but from a “fit” standpoint. Do they represent the values and diversity you are looking for in order to create a culture that people enjoy being a part of?
🌟So whether you are senior leader with decades of experience, or an emerging leader who is beginning your journey of leadership, make sure you are focused on building relationships with the people who go to battle with you day after day, because PEOPLE are the most precious resource that will get you to where you want to go…
