Group Leadership

Group leadership is effective because of the shared learning.

Group leadership training programs can be very effective because there is shared learning between the participants, and it could also serve as a team building activity.  In addition, I’ve found that the participants really enjoy the one-on-sessions we have along the way!
 
When creating these training programs, the first step is to talk to the leadership team to understand what the greatest needs are of the participants.  I will request information up front such as the participants’ primary growth opportunities, their strengths, time in role, etc.
 
While the program can be altered in terms of length and specific topics, below is an example of the type of program that has been deployed successfully to several teams and organizations over the course of the last five years.  Please note that these programs are customized after discussion with the clients.
 
Executive Summary:
 
The Leadership Development program is a ten-week program, with targeted topics and a practical approach to drive sustainable application of leadership principles. We will have ten consecutive weeks of training, with seven weeks of group training sessions and three weeks of one-on-one sessions with each participant.
 
The program starts and ends with my connection with the participants’ leaders.  First, an assessment of each of the candidates, and to close the program out, there will be a final debrief to the leadership team on each individual participant.
 
Each group training program will have eight to ten participants.  The expectation of each participant is that they are 100% invested in their development, including a willingness to do pre and post session assignments.
 
Participants will be provided with John Maxwell’s “15 Invaluable Laws of Growth” and weekly summaries of our material.  The final output from them will be an “Action Statement” that they will commit to going forward, based on their learning over the ten-week period.
 
I will be leveraging a thirty-year supply chain leadership career at a fortune 100 company, focused on talent management and development, coupled with a John Maxwell Team certification as a coach, speaker and trainer to help educate the participants and coach them to become more effective leaders.  I can also offer additional coaching beyond the training if desired.
